In Loving Memory of Marye Wells-Harley
It is with deep sadness that we honor the passing of Marye Wells-Harley, a visionary leader and passionate advocate for parks, recreation, and community in Montgomery County. Marye’s decades of service — including her tenure as Vice Chair of the Montgomery County Planning Board and her longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship and equitable access to public space — helped shape the parks we cherish today.
Continuing Her Legacy
In tribute to her extraordinary impact and belief that every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of the outdoors, the Marye Wells-Harley Dream Camp Scholarship Fund was established in 2018. This fund supports children with demonstrated financial need in making their summer camp dreams a reality by providing tuition assistance for Montgomery Parks summer camps. Through this scholarship, young people can explore the natural world, build confidence, and make memories that will last a lifetime — values that Marye championed throughout her life.
Your gift to the Marye Wells-Harley Dream Camp Scholarship Fund ensures that her legacy lives on by opening doors for future generations to enjoy the wonder of parks and outdoor learning.
